writing The Tall Girl Series: A Body of Work* transformed my life. i designed 23 quilts to illustrate my words; which then went out into the world through six exhibits. the work informed and educated hundreds of people about the downsides of cosmetic surgery, our cultural obsession with appearances, and speaking up on forbidden subjects. viewers often thought about their own stories and how they could express them creatively.

i cannot tell you how many have commented to me, either in person or via social media about how this work has impacted them. every one of us has a story, and many are not pretty. 

art heals. telling my story not only healed me, but went on to impact others. and for me that has truly been the greatest gift.
